Sebastian's virtues, twelfth update

Sebastian's virtues, twelfth update

This week has gone by fast. It felt way quicker than usual. We had like two tests and a quiz, but I feel go about them. Like I thought I was gonna do bad but when I saw them It felt easy. Robotics class is bomb I get do homework basically all the time cause no new robots need to be built. During reading we had to do this computer test which was pointless. I didn't even finish but It's cause I was playing 2048 and doing homework for like the whole first day. Then when I was told it was for a grade I actually had to start it. On the other hand my commitment virtue has taking a rise. I am studying more for tests and stuff so I don't think that I'm too far off of attaining commitment completely.

Sebastian's virtues, eleventh update

Sebastian's virtues, eleventh update

So this week was short. I ended up going to ksp after school on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday. I was supposed to go to school on Wednesday but I could't. I bet it was probably fun thou. Thanksgiving was great. I got time to see some family members that I have not seen for a long time. I also feel good about the different types of food that I have not had in a while. Then on Friday my sister threw a  party. And at like 1;30 everyone started to celebrate because  Fedel Castro died. Oh man was it funny they were screaming like crazy(viva Cuba) all over the place and my parents were like what the but they low key were saying the same thing. I guess or at least I think I have master all my virtues except commitment. I just can't seem to stay on task in swimming or on Homework. Like right now i'm cramming this blogger post at 2 am cause I just remembered. I was supposed to sleep too but I guess I'll have to do that later. And I've skipped a couple so swimming days cause I just think that swimming is boring. Like before it was the best you know, it gets you into shape and stuff. But now that I don't really need swimming I cant help but feel that its too repetitive. so um (good night).

Sebastian's virtues, tenth update

Sebastian's virtues,  tenth update

This week wasn't a bad one. We had only one quiz and test. Lunch was boring cause we had to listen to the speech's and we were allowed to go to the field or do anything. Friday was great cause we watched a movie first block. Got time to chill during second block. Then Greek is basically a free period so I got to start some homework. And last block we got to do the mannequin challenge and the teacher even filmed it. I went to ksp and played soccer which was cool and then went to the movies. I got home at around 1 am.  I had joined history bowl at last minute, just to find out there was a competition on Saturday. I set on my alarm but when it went off I canceled it and just knocked out. Its probably cause I was tired asf but whatever. I ended up going to the park and just chilling. Next week is thanks giving and I'm so ready for that long weekend.

Sebastian's virtues, Ninth update

Sebastian's virtues,  Ninth update

Alright this week was only a three day school week which was amazing. I got much need relaxing time from all those tests the week before and just plain old school. Its almost been like 3 months and the new building still isn't open for students which is a huge disappointment because we were told that it would be ready in the 2 weeks after school began (sike). But on Thursday everyone in my class craft team got healed so we aren't all on the verge of death. I also got to leave class for 2 minute in the morning and I ran half way through the field ,did some summer salts and cartwheels and then I went to check out some dip bars at the end of the field. It's pretty lit when you think about everyone being in class while your outside doing random stuff. There was no school on Friday and I was supposed to go to swimming at 4;30 am but my alarm didn't ring so I woke up at 7. I felt pretty bad cause I felt that I wasn't committed so I just went to the park but I ended up pushing my hands too much cause my calluses kinda ripped and I didn't notice until I got off the basketball rim.

Sebastian's virtues, Eight update

Sebastian's virtues,  Eight update

So this week I started my second week of swimming and it wasn't too bad. I've stayed committed (one of my virtues) to becoming better than I have been. Like last year I was really good at swimming and got 1st place in all of my freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and IM competitions. But since its been a long time practice is hard and I don't really have great stamina for swimming anymore. But I have improved so far that in two weeks I can already swim my freestyle 50 meters in about 28 seconds which isn't too bad for my rustiness. We also had Greek night this week and it wasn't to bad. Like our dance was whatever but I chilled in the basketball court for a while and walking around , talking to like everyone. we do have tons of hw that everyone doing Sunday and I don't want to start it yet cause its gonna take me at least like four hours straight to finish and no one wants to spend important weekend relax time.

Sebastian's virtues, seventh update

Sebastian's virtues,  seventh update

This week started off super stressful. We had to take four tests. Like it's the last week of the grading period that has everyone super scared because the grade are going to be finalized and then we get four tests. The tests were no very hard thou and after each one we were told that they were going to count for the next period. But then after wen day most of our classes became free periods that we could just relax in. I beat my heigh score in some game and I actually was able to finish some hw during school so my afternoons became pretty lit. And for my virtues the only consistent one I have is commitment but only cause I've been going to swimming every day. But I am starting to get determined again cause I want to become better that the other kids in my team so that I can start swimming in the faster lanes and eventually become first.

Sebastian's virtues, sixth update

Sebastian's virtues, sixth update

This week was a boring week. We had to do quite a lot of homework and we had to study for a lot of quizzes and tests. We had to write our essays during the weekend and we had two consecutive geometry tests. One god thing that has happened is I got a hundred on my robotics test. It wasn't really hard. We only had to know things like the digital output and input of the programming and the analog version. I am stating swimming this week and it's only been like 9 moths since I last swam competitively (I'm rusty)  Next week thought we have like 4 tests and like 3 quizzes so were all going to have a jolly of a time.

Sebastian's virtues, fifth update

  Sebastian's virtues, fifth update

last week hurricane Mathew or whatever it was called (I forgot) gave us students two days, Thursday and Friday with no school. It made my week for me cause we were gonna have a test Thursday but it was moved to Monday. it also gave me time to chill a little more. Then during this week we didn't have school on Wednesday. i thought it was gonna be great u know not having to go to school again but we had to take the sat practice. Now I wasn't really all that bothered by it until I started doing it and realized that we had to answer each question super quick. Like it means we get out quicker but at the cost of right answers I would of taken my time. Then today Friday I had to retake a physics quiz that we did like three weeks ago because something happened to the quiz I took. Then when I finished I did poorly because I kinda forgot the equation we needed to use. So I really don't feel too committed to focus in class cause like I'm forgetting this simple important things.

Sebastian's virtues, fourth update

      Sebastian's virtues, fourth update

Throughout this week we got quite an amount of quiz's. One quiz in particulate got me quite confused. Mr Espina gave us some online quiz and I think I did the wrong one. I had a total of 12 questions which at first I thought was right. That is until everyone else finished and said that they all had 15 questions on their quizzes. So i'm screwed and so is my grade. One thing I don't know whether I should do or not are sports. I like sports, teams, and all that fun stuff but I don't think I need to get committed to anything right know. I exercise on my own time and don't think that I physically need to go to a sport to improve. Plus I think that school sports kinda suck that is not trying to dis consider all of  Archie's determined and hardworking athletes.

Sebastian's virtues, third update

       Sebastian's virtues, third update

This week at least for me has gone by pretty fast. I really haven't given my virtues much thought. It's kinda hard to wake up in the morning and think about what virtue you will try to practice today. I did however fall of my chair on Wednesday during algebra 2. I didn't even realize that I had fallen until I notices that I was under my table. In class craft my team finally got the power to heal and we are no longer in close danger of dying to the hands of an unlucky day. The only virtue I guess I have practiced this week is cooperation. Like my geometry group and I had to work on a problem together in order to get a good grade. One thing I am waiting for is for Saturday. I can't help but wait for that moment when my peer group and I fail at like everything because not everyone in my group is too intrigued on fighting others groups in order to win.

Sebastian's virtues, Second update

Second update

During this week I have stayed somewhat on task however many things are appearing that are really stopping my progress for cooperation. During ethics class four out of the five people in my team died. We all think that we are pretty much going to die everyday. We all have below five health and it seems that we won't be able at least any time soon to heal ourselves back since we all choose selfish powers. I can't help but feel that we are gonna loss every time we enter class. This also plays over my commitment virtue. I want to level up fast so I can get better powers that give me xp so that I can then get the best powers that will benefit everyone in my team (but mostly me). I also struggled with how hard this year just got this week. We got like five quizzes and a test for geometry that in truth I think everybody gonna fail. Studying for that test was so boring like omg how many proofs can a problem even have. But at least it is Friday and this week has pasted so I hope I've got "good luck" for next week.

Sebastian's virtues, First update

First update

To recap; my three virtues are commitment, respect and cooperation. so far I have yet to complete my task as of attaining these virtues permanently but I have tried to make them part of my daily routine. Everyday I try my best to be respectful to my fellow class mate but I can't stay respectful forever and eventual through my day I break. I have succeeded however in both cooperation and commitment. In robotics I cooperate with my fellow builders Which in turn allows us to finish at a faster pass than the other building groups. And for commitment I pretty much use it all day every day. When I bored of writing I just try harder to finish, when I get tired of doing exercise I continue until I truly believe that I cannot. One thing though that has held some of my progress back is homework. I just can't get always finish when I want and I end up getting mad which makes me not want to do anything.

MY VIRTUES

      Sebastian Hernandez 9th grade
Character experiment
Commitment: “The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc”. Using this virtue I can accomplish more of the things that I want to do during my lifetime. For example staying committed to school is very important. If I stop being committed to school then i'll begin to fall behind. After comes cause of effect and then I'll fail my classes. Failing my classes would make my college application bad and then I wouldn’t end up going to a top college. My dreams would be ruined. So I plan to use this virtue through the school year. I hope that it allows me to test myself and see exactly how far I can stay focused on getting through this school year with the best grades that I possibly can.

Respect: “A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements”. I choose respect because I am told often that I need to respect my teachers and that I need to respect my parents. They are the people in my life that I look up to. They are the people that are always pushing me to become a better person and they are always helping me improve the person that I already am. I plan on growing this virtue by not only appreciating the time and work that my teachers and parents put in for me but by showing it. I will make a large effort to show them how much I actually care.

Cooperation: “The process of working together to the same end’. Becoming more cooperative allows people to realize how much they could actually do. When you are cooperative you get better social skills and you become more understanding about yourself and others. It allows you to hear different opinions other than you own which makes you less stubborn. It also allows you to learn your strengths by having your team or group telling you how good you can actually become at something. My plan to grow this virtue is by implementing it into a variety of team work groups and teams I am in such as robotics and the AMC swimming team.
